Security:
IM Control offers several features to allow the administrator to apply the security policies of the company. You can define rules to make sure the users will not get pottentially dangerous files and links. See more in the Security option in the left menu.

Bandwidth:
Installing IM Control may reduce the bandwidth consumption of your network because your users will be aware of the monitoring. This will inhibit them from exchanging may of the non-productive information that otherwise they may freelly exchange. Another point is the file transfer control, that makes possible to specify exactly what kinds of files are allowed ( like .xls, .doc ) and blocked ( like .mp3 .avi, ... ).

Productivity:
When users are aware that they are being monitored, they tends to police theirselfs. Even when all contacts are allowed to the users, they avoid to spend all their work hours chatting with friends. But, if even knowing that they are monitored the use of IM continues to be for particular purposes, the administrator can check this with the reports and start to denying some of the contacts.

Conformance:
The reports feature makes possible to track all the deals made with your customers. This allows you to have a very fast tool to close deals, even more faster then e-mail. But closing deals by IM requires the history of all negotiations, this is provided by IM Control. Several of our customers use MSN as a tool to close their deals with their business partners.
